Through the AmarisWorks consultancy, Amaris has joined forces with global and mid-sized agencies, such as Real Chemistry, Weber Shandwick, The Harris agency and others, to help the agencies (and their clients), understand and engage communities in ways that build trust, and drive meaningful, lasting impact.

Prior to founding AmarisWorks in 2018, Amaris led strategy and execution within Edelman’s Consumer Brand practice where she worked for 7+ years in various roles, including a Multicultural Marketing Executive and Global Marketing Manager. As part of Edelman’s Multicultural Marketing practice, Amaris advised on, implemented and executed diversity and inclusion (D&I) and cause-related programs for companies across the private and public sectors, including Pfizer, Astrazeneca,  the American Heart Association, Microsoft, Starbucks and Time Warner Cable, among others. She played an integral role in the development of a six-month D&I audit for Starbucks that resulted in a strategic plan to institutionalize diversity across the company’s global network. Amaris was also integral in the launch of Edelman’s Black Employee Resource Group – Edelman Griot.

In between her time at Edelman, Amaris served as the Manager of NBCUniversal’s Client Solutions department. There she identified sponsorship opportunities for Fortune 500 brands in partnership with USA and Syfy networks’ Integrated Marketing and Ad Sales groups.

Prior to working at NBCUniversal, Amaris led integrated communications and marketing efforts for NASCAR. There, her remit was to help drive inclusion across the story’s purpose, product and practices.

A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Amaris graduated from Magna Cum Laude from Howard University where she majored in public relations and minored in psychology.
